I’m Benjamin but you can call me Ben or BLG.
A little about me
Okay, so here’s the part where I talked about myself and my journey and how it got me to this point.
I started my career as a freelance web designer, mainly focused on webflow. I did this for three years full-time, and then slowly switch my focus on building products.
I did start and still run a small ecommerce business on the side. It was a very interesting experience because I realized the power of compound interest, not for investing but for business.
The main difference with my freelance gig was that this time I was building a “machine” that was working for me, and that machine was the e-commerce website and everything around it. I was working and optimizing that machine, which itself was doing the work for me instead of having a direct correlation between my time and money in freelance.
Meanwhile, I have always been fascinated by growth and marketing, and I still spend a lot of time learning, reading, and watching content on the topic, especially from the startup world, because this is where I started and where most of my clients as a freelancer were.
And now, with the new wave of AI, especially with Claude Code, I started a couple of months ago to really focus on that, and maybe it will finally my time. I spent the last couple of months thinking and building a SaaS.
March 2026 - Maximum effort on marketing.
And here we are, March 2026. The SaaS product is ready, the marketing website is ready, everything is ready, and all I have to do now is focus on marketing.
And this is why I decided to start this newsletter. Now I have all the reasons in the world to focus all my time and attention on this, and I want to keep myself accountable.
This is going to be the main goal of that newsletter. I want to share and document everything I learn, I try, my vision, why I’m doing this and more.
Distribution is the new moat.
Another reason why I want to do this is I think marketing, to some extent, is going to be such an important skill in my life for my vision for what I want to do with my career.
This is not just about marketing; it’s really about distribution, and I think the new moat in today’s world is really distribution if you want to start a business or if you want to do a career as an employee.
It is going to be so much interesting right now to learn and try. I think this is not that much about luck; it is about intensity and volume. If you can do this with the right mindset and go all in with maximum effort, you can not only make it work but actually learn maybe the most important skill of this century, which is how to get people’s attention at scale.
What’s in it for you
But enough talking about me and what I want to do. I’d like to talk and to guide you through what to expect from this newsletter.
I’d like to keep a format and try to do one weekly post about my process and my journey here.
Currently, I will try to market and get clients for my SaaS. That is going to be my main goal for the next couple of months.
What I want to do is each week do a format where:
Create: I share my progress around my SaaS and documents, what I’ve done, what worked, and what didn’t work.
Explore: what I’ve been reading and consuming on the topics and the key
Level Up: One key lesson I’ve learned during the week that I want to share.
(Mood): I love to work with some good music to get me in the mood, so maybe I’ll share what I’m listening to every now and then if you don’t mind.
